The pump on my CoQ10 cream stopped working. How can I fix it?
Do you actively practice recycling? Is your product packaging recyclable or made from recycled materials?
We share your concern for our natural resources and our environment. We believe the best personal care products are made with pure and simple ingredients that are organically grown and cruelty-free. Our hypoallergenic formulas are naturally-derived without animal ingredients and are easily biodegradable. Our packaging is sensible and minimal, utilizing recycled and recyclable materials. We have many in-house procedures for our Reduce, Reuse and Recycle policies.
All of our cardboard packaging can be recycled along with other cardboard. Plastics will be either #1, #2 or #5 and can be recycled accordingly. In some cases, one product has both types of plastic. Alba Shave cream tubes are #2 plastic and the caps are #5. Avalon Organic Deodorant bottles are #2 plastic and the roller ball is #5 plastic.
Avalon Organics CoQ10 airless pumps need to be disassembled for appropriate recycle handling.
The pump on the CoQ10 is an airless pump - designed to get out every drop of product, as well as to extend the freshness of the product by preventing exposure to air.
The container empties from the bottom up, and sometimes the disc inside the bottle sticks on its way up. We have found the first two techniques, listed below, to be successful in restarting the dispensing pump:
1) Try tapping the bottom of the container firmly on a hard surface.
2) Try smacking the bottom of the container (like a ketchup bottle).
3) If all else fails, hold the translucent container up to a light to see if it is empty. If it is empty, you will be able to see completely through the bottle.
In the past, we have had individuals return malfunctioning bottles to us for evaluation. The pumps were functioning properly upon arrival - most likely due to being shaken in transit.
