Signature Ingredients

Our products are formulated with what we call 'Signature Ingredients.' These are the ingredients that act as the prime element of the product, and often determine its fundamental properties and effects on your skin or hair. We have identified a number of valuable plant-based ingredients -- nutrients, botanicals, plant and nut oils, that make our products unique. If you are interested in learning about other individual ingredients, check out our Glossary, with the complete A-Z.

Some of our favorites are:

Aloe Vera: This soothing, miracle botanical is widely known to be rich in vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, proteins and humectants. With a pH nearly identical to our own skin, it has healing anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties and provides excellent protection for the skin.

Babassu Oil: Derived from the fruit of the Babassu tree, this oil has excellent emollient properties that aid in skin moisturization, as well as restoring the hair's natural elasticity.

Beta Glucan: Stimulates collagen synthesis and promotes cellular turn-over for a fresher scalp, leading to healthier looking hair. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that make it ideal for scalp or skin irritation.

Chamomile: Calming and gentle, chamomile is used both internally and externally for its soothing characteristics.

CoQ10: Essential to your body's health, as well as for maintaining youthful, healthy skin, CoQ10 acts as a defense against the signs of aging and the damage caused by environmental factors such as sun, pollution and smoke.

Lavender: Renowned for its historical use in treating wounds, burns and stings, lavender is regarded as the most versatile therapeutic essence. A soothing, calming scent that nourishes and clarifies the senses.

Lemon: With its bracing, citrus scent, lemon refreshes the skin and hair. Acidic properties help remove dulling residues.

Peppermint: A stimulating botanical that promotes circulation in the scalp and refreshes the skin.

Rosemary: Traditional uses of rosemary include normalizing greasy hair, stimulating scalp circulation and encouraging hair growth. It also has a refreshing, invigorating scent that awakens and revives the senses.

Shea Butter: Rich in fatty acid triglycerides, which add shine to hair, shea butter is derived from the karite fruit on the African mangifolia tree. It heals, soothes and protects the skin and hair.

Tea Tree: Historically used in treating a spectrum of skin conditions such as burns, blisters, dandruff and bites, tea tree oil has antiseptic properties that help control microbial levels that may cause scalp irritation.

Vitamin C: A powerful antioxidant essential for health, Vitamin C also works when topically applied to your skin to brighten, rejuvenate and help protect against the signs of aging and damaged caused by factors such as sun, pollution and smoke.

Ylang Ylang: Renowned for its sensual, floral aroma, Ylang Ylang is a gentle and delicate botanical essence.
